Darrell Olson, 47, of Leonard, Minnesota passed away peacefully at his home on January 26, 2022.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bagley, Minnesota with a visitation one hour prior. There will be a meal after the service at 4:00 p.m. at Dudley’s Café in Leonard, MN. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.
Darrell was born on June 15, 1974 in Bagley, Minnesota to Arthur “Sonny” and Mercedithe (Tweet) Olson. He was raised in Leonard and went to school in Clearbrook. He worked for Skoe and a farmer in Middle River before starting at PRD (now known as TEAM) when he was 18. He went on to work at Minnesota Limited, Northern Pipeline, and Wells Technology for a time. Darrell came back to work at TEAM for the last 21 years.
Darrell loved working on engines and competing in Demo Derbies. He enjoyed hunting and ice fishing. He recently got a Blackstone and became quite the grill master with it. He also specialized in some very tasty pig roasts. Every year, Darrell looked forward to getting together with his “Moondance Family” and taking the music and fun at Moondance Jam. He was always up for a Ranger Ride with Melissa, going for an adventure, or a new project.
He married Melissa Narveson on July 18, 1998 at Diamond Point Park in Bemidji, MN. Together they made a home north of Leonard and raised their family. Darrell loved teaching his kids and grandkids life skills and how to repair engines. He was always very generous with his time and skills. He would drop whatever he was doing to help anyone in need.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Melissa Olson; his children, Tyler (Alex) Narveson, Miranda (Luke) Olson, and Makayla Olson; his grandkids, Allie, Zane, Carter, Chase, Genevieve, Ashtyn, Trevyn, and Brooklyn; his brother, Darrin “Bucky” Olson; his brother-in-law, Brandon Gregory; his sisters-in-law, Kimberlee Gregory and Jessica Olsen; his nieces, Hannah and Gretchen; his mother and father-in-law, LuAnn and Jim Lowth; his grandparents-in-law, Melvin and Grace Olsen; and many other loved family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Trevor Christopherson; his parents, Arthur “Sonny” and Mercedithe Olson; his sister-in-law, Ashlee Olsen; his father-in-law, Arlan Narveson; and his grandparents.
