Services for Dale Vernon Miller

Dale Vernon Miller, 94, passed away at Cornerstone in Bagley, Minnesota on Sunday, February 4th, 2018.

 

Dale was born on January 13th, 1924 in Aurora, South Dakota to Arthur and Pearl Miller.  He was raised in the Bagley area and attended country school and some high school.  He graduated from the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston in March of 1943. 

 

Dale married Lois Vietor on May 30th, 1943.  He worked on farms until he entered the Army in 1945.  He served in World War II until 1947.

 

Dale and Lois purchased the Vietor farm in 1952 and made that their home.  They had four children and were married for 71 years.  

 

Dale was an avid farmer and outdoorsman.  He was a member of the American Legion for 60 years.

 

Survivors include daughters-Pat Bitker of Fosston, Rosemary (Don) Amundson of Leonard, and Dorothy Schmidt of Bemidji.  Special family Fred and Tammie Ehlers, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

 

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lois, son and daughter-in-law David and Pauline Miller, and son-in-law Leon Bitker.

 

A celebration of life will be held at Cease Funeral Home in Bagley, MN on Saturday, February 10th, at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Clearwater County Fair, Clearbrook Senior Center, or Clearwater County Hospice.
