Christopher Allen Wang was born on September 5, 1959, in Crookston, Minnesota to parents Truman and Lois Jean (Scott) Wang. He grew up in Winger and attended McIntosh-Winger High School. He started working for Burlington Northern Railroad immediately out of high school. He worked in many different States around the country. For the past 12 years, he has lived in Gillette, Wyoming where he was Director of Safety. Chris worked for BN for over 40 years.

Chris worked hard and played with a passion.  He was the kind of person who always had a smile for everyone.  He would enter a room of strangers and within 5 minutes they were all his friends. In his free time, Chris loved golfing, sports (The Vikings), and road tripping to Deadwood on his Harley. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and many friends. Every August, Chris and a crew of friends gathered at the Hannibal Open Golf Outing in Detroit Lakes. Their memories with Chris will always hold as small treasures. He loved that event and loved each and every one of his friends as well. They loved him in return and know that he will always be there with us.

Those who knew Chris (even just a little), lost a shining light in their lives. He will be dearly missed and never replaced.

Survivors include his mother, LJ (Byron) Kaupang of Winger; sister, Debi (David) Norton of Bemidji; brother Jeff of Mentor; and only nephew, David Sall of Winger, Aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many great friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Truman; and sister-in-law, Brenda Wang, as well as Aunts, Uncles, and close friends who left us too soon.
