Services for Christopher Vernon Paulson
Christopher Vernon Paulson, age 30, of Clearbrook, MN, passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Sanford Medical Center in Bemidji, Minnesota from complications of glioblastoma brain cancer.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Leonard, MN. A visitation will be held the evening before on Thursday, August 23 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. at the church in Leonard, as well as one hour prior to the services on Friday. Interment will be at Dudley Township Cemetery in Leonard, MN. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.
Chris was born February 23, 1988 to Brett and Melanie (Lundmark) Paulson in Bagley, Minnesota. Chris was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Leonard, Minnesota. He attended Clearbrook-Gonvick Schools in Clearbrook and graduated in 2007. Chris was employed by NPL as a pipefitter from 2007 to 2013. He was proud of his work and enjoyed his job. He made many long-lasting friends there. In 2013, Chris was involved in an auto accident which left him paralyzed from the waist down. With prayer, great determination, and extensive physical therapy, Chris was able to walk again. He attributed his recovery to physical therapy and so decided to go to school to become a physical therapy assistant. He attended Northland Community College in East Grand Forks, Minnesota, completing his general course requirements and had just begun the Physical Therapy Assistant Program in August 2017.
Chris enjoyed hunting, music, hanging out with friends, and cooking for friends and family. He was over-joyed with the birth of his nephew, Tripp.
Chris will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Chris is survived by his mother, Melanie Paulson of Leonard; his brother Nicholas (Shelby) Paulson of Shevlin; his sister, Olivia (Chase) Paulson of Leonard; his nephew Tripp Torgerson of Leonard; his grandparents, Sandra Paulson of Clearbrook, and Ted and Beverly Lundmark of Leonard; his uncles and aunts, Scott Paulson of Detroit Lakes, Todd (Debbie) Paulson of Kenner, LA, Tammy (Curtis) Elkin of Young America, Kelly Lundmark of Leonard, and Tony Lundmark of Leonard; numerous great aunts, great uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, Brett Paulson; his grandfather, Gordon Paulson; and his uncle, Zane Lundmark.
