Services for Agnes Rolf

Agnes Rolf, age 88, of rural McIntosh, MN, passed away on Monday, February 15th, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 22nd, at Trinity Free Lutheran Church, rural McIntosh with the Rev. Karl Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a 4:00 p.m. prayer service on Sunday, February 21st, and for one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. All visitation will be held at Trinity Free Lutheran Church. Agnes Charlotte Overlid was born on October 29, 1927 in Oslo, Minnesota to parents Knute and Olga Tonderum Overlid. She grew up in Oslo and graduated from Oslo High School in 1944. In 1948 she graduated from Lutheran Bible School in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. She attended LPN school in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, and graduated in 1949. She then went on to receive special surgical training and worked at St. Luke’s Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota.

Agnes was united in marriage to Truman Rolf on April 6, 1957 at Big Woods Lutheran Church near Oslo. After their marriage, they raised their children and farmed in Lessor Township north of McIntosh, Minnesota. Truman passed away on December 27, 1994. Agnes was an active part of the farm until just recently when her health began to fail.

She was a devoted member of Trinity Free Lutheran Church and belonged to the Christian Women’s group. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, canning, and time on the farm, especially seeing the animals grow up. She valued time with her family and especially if a picnic was involved.

Agnes went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 15, 2016 at her home in Lessor Township at the age of 88 years.

Survivors include her four children, Twila Rolf of Thief River Falls, MN, Timothy (Kay) Rolf, David (Veronica) Rolf, and Charlotte Rolf, all of McIntosh, MN; three grandchildren, Derek Rolf, Ashley Rolf, and Brittany Rolf; sister-in-law, Jeanette Overlid of Maple Plain, MN; and brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Harriet) Rolf of Erskine, MN, and Wallace (Lillian) Rolf of Havre, MT. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Truman; her parents; siblings, Arnold, Bjarne, Myrtle (Marvin) Tungseth, Ruth (Lloyd) Helland, Bertha (Benneth) Mathsen, Orpha Overlid; and sister-in-law, Delores (Wayne) Struble.

Most important to Agnes was her personal relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
