Sadonna May Dirks

Sadonna May Dirks, born December 5, 1938, in Eldora Township, Iowa, was taken to her eternal
home Friday, October 10, 2025 from Havenwood Care Center in Bemidji, MN. She was the
beloved daughter of the late Lowell and Dora (Lepley) Stewart.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, October 25th, 2025 at Crossroads Church in Bemidji,
MN.
Sadonna was a happy, caring soul to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on
this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and her faith in God. We ask that you
remember her not for the way her life ended, but for the way it was lived.
She loved being with her family. She enjoyed baking cookies and goodies with her
grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to sew and crochet. She would make outfits
for barbies and dolls, as well as clothes for herself and her children. She loved gardening and
nature; taking in all the beauty from everything around us from the beautiful skies to the dirt
she walked in (barefoot) and everything in between. She loved travelling. In fact, she used to
say that anytime anyone said, “let’s go”, she would already have her bags packed. She loved
playing cards and putting together puzzles. She would be smiling from ear to ear when the
whole family got together to play cards.
She is survived by her children, Sonja Burger of Bemidji, MN, Tim (Kathy) Blooflat of Mankato,
MN, Delores (Steve) Barnes of Belknap, IL, and Patty (Ron) Rockis of Wannaska, MN. She is also
survived by her sister Deloris (Tom) Birch and brother Jack (Elaine) Stewart.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lowell and Dora (Lepley) Stewart, brother, Dick
(Dianne) Stewart, husband, Ben Dirks, and son, Lowell (Dixie) Blooflat.
Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Phyleasha, Phyleana, Phillip, Phorest, Teresa,
Dale, Matt, Amanda, Aaron, John, Roger, Cassandra, Ronnie, and Tommy; 38 great
grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and
friends.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
