Rodger Lee Walberg

Rodger Lee Walberg, 76, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2026, surrounded by his family.

 

He was born in Duluth, MN on April 28, 1950. Rodger graduated from Two Harbors, MN in 1968.

 

He married Paulette Higginbotham on December 28, 1977, in Bagley, MN. Rodger worked in the trucking industry as a Truck Driver, Diesel Mechanic, and Service Writer.

 

Rodger retired in 2015, spending his time between Grand Forks, ND and Apache Junction, AZ. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, having coffee with the boys, and talking trucks and trains.

 

He is survived by his wife, Paulette; his daughter, Kimberly Burris of Corpus Christi, Texas and adopted son, Martin Hedenbergh of Gothenberg, Sweden; grandchildren, Taylor (Brandon) Johnson of Duluth, MN, Mackenzie Burris of Minneapolis, MN, Bryce Burris of Bozeman, MT, Kenady Burris of Grand Forks, ND, and Lexah Walberg of Grand Forks, ND; great-grandchild, Violet Johnson; former daughter in law, Tonya Walberg of Grand Forks, ND; siblings, Curt (Mary Joy) Walberg of Forest Lake, MN, Claudia (Mark) Tisdale of Hendersonville, TN, Wendie (Bob) Zimmer of Harrisburg, SD; and many nieces and nephews.

 

He is preceded in death by his son, Lee Rodger Walberg; parents, Herb and Clara Walberg; brother, Herb Walberg; in-laws, Paul and Emily Everhart; beloved pets, Micky, Fritz, Otis, and Eski.

 

A Celebration of Life for Rodger will be held Thursday, July 23rd, 10:30am, at the University of North Dakota Gorecki Alumni Center, 3501 University Ave, Grand Forks, ND, and a luncheon to follow.
