Robert David Bushelle
Robert David Bushelle, 62, passed away on August 18, 2026 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Bobby was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1963 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lewistown, Montana to Brett and Tomoko (Kawamura) Bushelle. He spent his early childhood on his father’s ancestral homestead ranch near Forest Grove, and in Grass Range, Montana.He attended elementary school in Sebeka, Minnesota, junior and senior high school in Gonvick, Minnesota, graduating with the Class of 1982. He attended the University of Minnesota – Crookston and North Dakota State University (NDSU), majoring in Business Administration.
Bobby lived in Fargo, North Dakota, Eau Claire, Wisconsin and settled in the Twin Cities area. He worked in retail at Wilson’s Leather for ten years, followed by a sixteen-year career as a marketing and accounting analyst at Best Buy’s corporate headquarters. Most recently he worked at several casinos and the VFW in Roseville, selling pull tabs, bartending and serving, and working the Bingo floor.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Tomoko (JoAnn) and Brett, his sister-in-law Karen, his grandmother Duska, aunts Linda and Michiyo, friends Jeff and Kelly, and his best furry friends, Cookie and Harley.
Surviving are his partner, Kyle Ebner; siblings Annette (Steve) Hill, Billy Bushelle, Jesse Bushelle, Becky Carlson (Jerry), and Katie (Brandon) Sletten Bushelle; stepmother Cindy Bushelle; nieces and nephews and their families: Holly (Korey) and Aurora and Sophaia Kaczmarek-Hill, Kelly (Mesa) and Stevie Bushelle-Heise, Amanda (Christopher) and Lillette Stefan, Bobby (Kiran) and Lara and Kai Hill, Kyle Bushelle, Shawn (Brandi Coyer), Chloe and Newt Bushelle, Dillon and Isaac Bushelle, Lexi Rosnow, Morgan (CJ) Bushelle, Taylor (Seth) Melson, Annabell (Jared) Phillips, Molly Phillips, Sawyer Carlson, Charlie Phillips, Brett Bushelle, Stellan Bushelle; special cousin Akemi Yoneyama; special friends Carson Carmichael, Rick Denny, and many others that shared Bobby’s life.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to a charity of the donor’s choice or to the Aliveness Project in Minneapolis. Ashes will be interred with his parents at the West Cemetery, Sebeka, Minnesota at a later time. Bobby was generous, humble, and kind. He cared for and had deep relationships with people he met throughout his life.
