Obituary for Max (Reuben Stanley) Krogstad

Reuben Stanley Krogsted, 91, died on May 13, 3015 at his home in Seattle, WA.

Reuben was born in Sletten Township to Jens and Julia Krogstad. Attended rural school, Dist. 177, and graduated from McIntosh High School in 1941. He worked as a radio station engineer in Green Bay, WI then enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1942. He spent the next 3 years in the China-Burma-India area. He was radio operator on over 30 flights over the "hump" to internal China, then was Tower Chief in the air fields in the war zone of Burma/India until end of war. After the war he earned a BS in Physics at U of MN and PhD in Physics at Washington State University. He was a research physicist at Lockhead Missile Systems and Boeing Scientific Research Labs. He finished his career teaching Physics and Pre-Engineering at Seattle Community College.

In recent years he has kept touch with his family via SKYPE and HAM radio as KC7WOF.

He is survived by his wife, 6 children  and one great-grandchild. Also by his siblings Gilman, Blanchard, Judith and Evelyn.
