Obituary for Lawrence “Larry” LaCoursiere

Lawrence “Larry” LaCoursiere of Monticello, MN, formerly of Sun City, AZ and Minnetonka, MN, passed away on January 26th, 2022 at the age of 89.
He was born on August 12th, 1932 in Oklee, MN to Albert and Thora LaCoursiere. He helped work their farm until he joined the Navy Air Corps. He married his high school sweetheart in July of 1952. He graduated from the University of North Dakota and most of his working life was associated with military and outer space. He worked for Boeing, NASA, Control Data and Honeywell. He was also very involved in Toastmasters International.
In retirement he worked tirelessly on his genealogy, loved to play all card games, and taught writing and tennis at Paradise RV Resort in Sun City, AZ.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Thora LaCoursiere; and sister, Shirley Berard.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lorraine (Best); children Ryan (Jodie) LaCoursiere, Michelle (Mark) Backlund, Todd (Brittany) LaCoursiere; grandchildren, Noah (Julie) LaCoursiere, Jessica (Michael) Rummage, Amber LaCoursiere; great-grandchildren, Elijiah, Eden, Asher, Ava, Ezra, Easton, Everleigh and Ester; brother, Charles LaCoursiere; brother-in-law, Sidney Berard; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank Brighton Hospice and Willows Landing for the care and compassion they showed Larry in his final days.
A Celebration of the life of Larry LaCoursiere will be held later this summer in Oklee, MN.
