Obituary for Ila Rae (Langseth) Lene
Ila Rae (Langseth) Lene, 68, of Grand Forks, ND died unexpectedly on Monday, September 12, 2022 in Englewood, Florida while on vacation.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall in East Grand Forks, MN (option to attend via Zoom ID: 2028997922 and passcode:1918). A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Leonard, MN.
Ila Rae was born on January 29, 1954 in Wolf Point, MT to Glen and Betty (Voxland) Langseth. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. Ila Rae graduated from Clearbrook High School in 1972. On July 22, 1973 Ila Rae was united in marriage to Wallace Lene in Leonard, MN. They welcomed three children; Ryan, Rayme and Rachel and later divorced. Ila Rae attended Aakers Business College and obtained her degree in accounting. She worked the majority of her career at ECOLAB, US Foods and retired from Altru in 2020.
While married Ila Rae became a member of the Jehovah’s Witness faith. She was very passionate about her faith for Jehovah God. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 8, 1976. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and was always willing to try new things. Ila Rae recently celebrated her 50th high school reunion and enjoyed visiting her many lifelong friends. Ila was an easy person to be around and always had a way of making you feel welcome and at home in her presence. This was one of the many qualities that made Ila Rae the best travel companion. She enjoyed many vacations with her close friends.
Ila Rae devoted her life to her family. From giving rides to giving the best life advice she was always there. Ila Rae called her mother daily and spent any weekend she could in her hometown of Leonard, MN. She was very proud of her grandchildren and always had photos and stories to share. Ila Rae was selfless in her care for her children and grandchildren. She always made sure to provide everything they needed in order for them to succeed. Ila Rae was the heart of our family, the calm stability we often needed, and she will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her son, Ryan (Mallory) Lene of Grand Forks, ND, Rayme Prather of Grand Forks, ND, Rachel Lene of Grand Forks, ND; her grandchildren, Mia, Bailey, Chloe, Ethan, Levi, Alysa, Rylee; her mother, Betty Langseth of Leonard, MN; her sister, Lee Ann (Rick) Viktora of Bagley, MN; her sister in law, Diane Langseth of Leonard, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Glen Langseth and her brother, Richie Langseth.
