Edward Thompson

Edward Jay Thompson, 64, of Bagley, MN died on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at his home in Bagley, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Leonard, Minnesota. A visitation will be held one hour prior. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.
Ed was born on July 11, 1961, in Bagley, MN, to parents Alfred and Irene (Carey) Thompson. In 1979, he joined the Minnesota Army National Guard and served for six years until 1985. After the National Guard, Ed started at MasTec where he worked for almost 26 years. He loved what he did, and he cherished every single one of his coworkers. Ed had just recently retired due to some health issues. He was known to all as a very caring family man that lived a simple life. He enjoyed fishing both on the water and on the ice, deer watching, gardening, and was an excellent cook.
Ed is survived by his wife, Amy Thompson; children, Adam (Brandy) Broten, Samantha (Evan) Thompson, and Andrew (Michael) Thompson; many grandchildren; siblings, Nancy (Brooks) Epley, Christine Tollefson, Leonard Thompson, Dorothy (Al) Moreland, and Wanda (Fritz) Pearce; ex-wife, Brenda Neeland; and numerous other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Irene; twin sister, Elizabeth Thompson; brother, David Thompson; and brother-in-law, James Tollefson; and sister-in-law, Marianne Thompson.
