Beatrice Leon Anderson

Beatrice Leon Anderson, 88, of rural Fertile, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026.

Beatrice was born near Winger, Minnesota, on August 31, 1937. She attended country school near her home before graduating from McIntosh High School. She went on to pursue a career as an X-ray technologist, a profession she devoted herself to for more than 35 years at the clinic in Crookston, Minnesota. Bea took great pride in caring for her patients and brought compassion and dedication to her work.

In 1962, Beatrice married Paul Anderson. Together, they farmed near Fertile and raised their three children, Eric (Elisa) Anderson of Saint Hilaire, Minnesota, Beth (Michael) Gray of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Sharon (Paul) Powers of Englewood, Florida. She was a loving grandmother to nine grandchildren and a proud great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren.

She is survived by two sisters, Ardis Qualley of Fertile, MN, and Donna (Tim) Curfman of Alexandria, MN and a brother, Ronnie (Shirley) Locken of Winger, MN.

Beatrice found joy in many simple pleasures. She loved sewing, crafting and gardening, and she especially enjoyed browsing a good thrift store.

Throughout her life, Beatrice faced difficult times with a remarkable combination of optimism and determination. Those qualities carried her through many challenges and inspired the people who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her caring heart, strong spirit, devotion to her family, witty and mischievous sense of humor, and the many lives she touched through her work and friendships.

A celebration of life service will take place at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 14, 2026 at Faaberg Lutheran Church in Rindal, MN, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Faaberg Lutheran Cemetery in Rindal, MN.
