MOVE TO BAN SLEDS & ATV'S ON ALL STATE LAND

State Senator Foung Hawj DFL and Senator Jennifer A. McEwen DFL are moving to testimony and a vote on Senate File 1245. A bill to OUTLAW all snowmobile and atv use on state forest land STATEWIDE.

SF 1245 REQUIRES the DNR to investigate closing down ALL existing trail and road paths.

- bans new trails, connections, extensions, and moves

- bans all trails from within 200 ft of water (no exclusions for "frozen" water)

- bans water crossings (no exclusions for "frozen" water)

- allows any 50 county petitioners to demand ANY trail be investigated for closure

- allows any 150 metro petition signers to demand ANY and ALL trails STATEWIDE be investigated for closure.

- allows ANYBODY to sue for trail closure for "environmental" concerns even if the DNR disagrees

- bans sled and atv use on county and township roads and ditches unless part of a govt mapped and approved trail system.

Minnesota is the home to Arctic Cat (Thief River Falls) and Polaris (Medina, Wyoming, Roseau) and this passing would be an APOCALYPSE LEVEL EVENT for jobs and manufacturing and for central and northern Minnesota resorts and tourism, grouse hunters, deer hunters, trail riders, dealers, snowmobile clubs, bars, and gas stations along trail routes, etc.
