Garfield Lake Ice Races 2-15-2026

     The Daytona 500 race was held on Sunday in sunny and warm Florida.

  In northern Minnesota the Garfield Lake Ice Racing Club raced on the frozen Garfield Lake in  Laporte, Minnesota.   The Daytona race handed out millions of dollars to the drivers and crews.  The Garfield Lake Ice racers raced for fun and the opportunity to help its friends and neighbors with the funds they raise each year totaling in the hundreds of thousands of dollars over the past years.

     Sunday was a picture perfect day for racing with clear skies and temps in the upper 40's.   Many fans surrounded the track to watch the races, free for all to watch.  A total of 28 racers were on hand to race in the two classes.   In the youth class Landon Weeks was a clean sweep winner taking both heats and features.  In the A Main class Chad Tabaka picked up two heat wins and one feature.  The other A Main feature winner was Hunter Weeks with one heat win and the set two feature.

     Racing resumes next Sunday at noon on Garfield Lake located 1/4 south of Laporte.
