Services for Dolores Jean Wendorf,

On October 22nd, 2022, Dolores Jean Wendorf, 89, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family in Pine Lake, MN.

Dolores was born to Woody and Ruby Wilson (Alhmann) on September 30th, 1933 in Colome, South Dakota. She graduated from Hot Springs High School, SD in 1951.

Dolores married her first husband, Sonny Bourcy, on February 14th, 1951, in Hot Springs South Dakota. Together, they raised their children, Cheri, Rick, Cindy, Wendy, Jeff, and Mitch across various states, settling down in Shevlin, MN until their divorce in 1976.

After finally accepting his frequent requests to dance at the Blue Ox in Bemidji, Dolores fell in love with Ralph Wendorf. On June 13th, 1980, they were united in marriage in Shevlin, MN and their many world adventures soon began. Dolores and Ralph spent their life together in their home on Midge Lake near Cass Lake, MN and in their winter home in St. James City, Pine Island Florida. Dolores and Ralph had a marriage that can only be dreamed of. Their love for each other was profound; one that is rare and to be cherished. All who were blessed to be a part of their life together can account for the deep unconditional love they shared. Ralph and Dolores traveled the world together on planes, ships, or driving the Oldsmobile, never missing a sight along the way.

While they were growing up, Dolores’s focus was raising her children, but later in life she worked a variety of jobs including working at Sears, the Bagley Co-op, and ending her career as the City Clerk in Cass Lake, MN.  She was also an active life-long member of the Lioness Club in Cass Lake, which took Ralph and Dolores all over the world.  She loved giving back to her community.Dolores was a stranger to no one and enjoyed spending time with her family and her many friends.  Her home was usually busy, frequently full of her and Ralph’s children and grandchildren or friends that they had made throughout their lives.  She was world-renowned for her canned pickles, chocolate chip cookies, and good taste in brandy. When her grandchildren were at her house, you could find Dolores visiting with them, feeding them, or even teaching some of her granddaughters how to have a proper tea party.

She leaves behind a large family that expands across the globe, whom she was very proud of.  She is survived by her husband, Ralph Wendorf; children and stepchildren: Cheri (Jim) McCormick, Shelby, OH; Cindy Bushelle, Gonvick, MN; Wendy Otto, Thompson, ND; Mitch Bourcy; Karen (Eric) Paulson, Excelsior, MN; Ivan Wendorf, Jacksonville, FL; Rose Roberts, Lakewood, CO; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her sons Jeff and Rick Bourcy, stepson Lee Wendorf; son-in-law Greg Otto; and daughter-in-law Diane Wendorf.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 27th from 5 PM-7 PM with a Prayer Service at 7 PM at Cease Funeral Home in Bagley MN, with a funeral service on Friday, October 28th at 11 AM at Cease Funeral Home in Bagley, MN.
