Neil Harwood, age 91 of Star Prairie, Wisconsin passed away on Wednesday August 3, 2022.
Neil was born September 2, 1930 at The Fish Lake Farm, Benson County N.D. to Dallas and Harriet Harwood. His family came to Shevlin in 1948. Neil married Cathy Colligan of Bagley in 1949 and they welcomed two girls, Kelly in 1959 and Kristy in 1962.
Neil served in the Army, stationed in Germany from 1952-1954. After his service, he worked at Crescent Creamery and retired from Roberts Hamilton Plumbing and Heating in Fridley MN. He and Cathy moved to Star Prairie, WI shortly after retiring to spend more time with grand kids.
His greatest love was his family. When asked how he wanted future generations of his family to remember him, his reply “As someone who loves them.”
Neil is survived by his daughter Kristy and son-in-law Roger Klepel, his son-in-law Kevin Carlson, 5 Grandchildren, and 3 Great grand-children. He is also survived by sister in-law Gertie Harwood of Bagley and sister-in-law Helen Harwood of Federal Way, WA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Neil was preceded in death by parents, wife Catherine, daughter Kelly, infant son Kyle, brothers Harold, Earl, Gene, Larry, sister Ellen and dear friend Barbara Gould.
A Celebration of Life was held at the Kevin Carlson home on August 13th (Saturday) at 1PM.
