Kathryn F. Klasen, 70, of Clearbrook, MN passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Sanford Fargo Medical Center surrounded by her loving daughters and Husband.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Clearbrook, MN with visitation an hour prior. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.
Kathy was born on February 2, 1952, to parents Betty (Torgerson) and Chester Rud of Clearbrook, MN. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and graduated from Clearbrook High School in 1970.
She was united in marriage to Fredrick J. Klasen on December 30th, 1972, at Good Shepard Lutheran Church. They were the first couple to be married in the newly built Church during a typical MN winter storm. After they were married, they made their home in Clearbrook, MN. They had two daughters, April, and Paula. This year will be their 50th wedding anniversary.
After 40 years of employment, she retired from the First State Bank, Clearbrook MN and was fully enjoying retirement. Kathy enjoyed traveling with her husband and family. Her favorite place was Hawaii. She loved spending time with her grandkids, going to the lake, watching beautiful sunsets, puzzles, gardening and trying new recipes.
She was preceded in death by her parents Betty and Chester Rud, Aunt and Uncles Arlyce and Walter Gunning, Eugene Torgerson, Grandparents Christ and Anna Rud, Selma, and Walter Torgerson.
She is survived by her husband Fred, daughters April (Eric) Wilde and Paula (Keith) Christianson. Stepchildren Christine (Blayne) Twamley and Kenny (Kellie) Delaney. Brother Ron Rud, Sister Pam (Alan) Lanners, Sister Lynette (Bryan) Holtberg. Also 8 Grandkids whom she loved dearly.
