Services for Gordon N. Olson

 

 

Gordon N. Olson, age 79, of Clearbrook, Minnesota, passed away on February 16, 2022, at McIntosh Senior Living in McIntosh, Minnesota.

Gordon was born February 24, 1942, in Bagley, Minnesota, to Gustav and Gladys (Olson) Olson. He grew up in Sinclair Township and graduated from Clearbrook High School in 1960. He met Donna, his wife of 53 years; they married at Clearbrook Lutheran Church on January 31, 1969.  They became parents of their son, Glenn.  Gordon was a farmer and lived on the family farm his entire life. He worked for Clearbrook Ag and also for Clearwater Rice for 20 years. Gordon served as treasurer on the Sinclair Town Board and was Sexton of Seljord Cemetery in Sinclair Township.

Gordon was full of wit and enjoyed joking and laughing along with people. He enjoyed hunting and fishing on Nels Olson Lake with his grandson, Gunner. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, growing flowers and vegetables in his garden, and playing cards with the crew at the liquor store. Gordon was active in his community driving the “A” John Deere tractor in parades and tractor shows and participating in the Itasca Pioneer Farmers, Western  Minnesota Steam Thrashers Reunion in Rollag and Tractor Pulling.

Gordon is survived by his wife Donna, son Glenn Olson (Debra Pagel), grandson Gunner Olson, Gunner’s mother Lucie Thompson, and sister Gwen Sorenson.  He is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Jim Sorenson, and other friends and family.
