Arlene H. Hoie, 92, of Bagley, Minnesota died on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at the Sanford Bagley Medical Center with her family present.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Bagley, Minnesota with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will be held at the Nora Township Cemetery in Bagley, Minnesota. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.
Arlene was born on October 20, 1928, the daughter of Arvid and Hilda (Bjerke) Engberg. She was united in marriage to Almer Hoie in Bagley on August 2, 1947. She had various waitress jobs along with raising five kids. She loved the outdoors. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and feeding the birds in her yard. She always had an amazing garden. She liked to can vegetables from her garden. Arlene was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Bagley. She liked to sew and did quilting with the other lady members. She enjoyed family and friends. She had a great sense of humor.
She is survived by her five children- Dallas (Kay) Hoie of Niceville, FL; Dennis Hoie of Bagley, MN; Darrel Hoie (Faye Fraley) of Shevlin, MN; Gail (Dan) Garland of Shevlin, MN; and Wayne Hoie of Bagley, MN. Nine Grandchildren- Brenda (Daryl) Cooper, Bryan (Brooke) Hoie, Michelle (Chuck) Hamilton, Jason Moen, April (Danny) Cranston, Alicia (Tommy) Rolfson, Tiffany (Jessie) Bushelle, Jessica Hanson, and Justin Garland. Twenty-five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Almer Hoie, her parents Arvid and Hilda Engberg, her sisters Ethel Fisher, Florence and her brothers Mike and Glen.
