Red Lake County Central High School Trap Team Qualifies for State Championship

The Red Lake County Central (RLCC) High School Trap Team recently competed at the Minnesota State High School Clay Target League competitions in Alexandria Minnesota on June 14th.
The League consists of over 10,000 student athletes on 292 teams from across the state.  Over 200 teams and 7,000 athletes attended the League Championships in Alexandria. The top thirty-eight teams (some from each class) from the League Championships are invited to the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Championships at Prior Lake.  Despite shooting in the rain and having two lightning delays, the team members showed excellent shooting ability and qualified for the MSHSL State Championships.
This is RLCC’s second season as a trap team and an outstanding accomplishment.  The seven athletes who competed at Alexandria included Marcus Christensen, Cade Bachand, Seth Paradis, Adam Cater, Josef Paradis, Ethan Vettleson, and Nick Lill.  All of them shot very well.  Marcus placed third in the Class 1A Conference 5 Top Gun season competition.  Marcus, Seth, and Adam all qualified Expert in the NRA qualification program.  All seven of the athletes will be attending the State Championships as one five member squad and two alternate athletes.
Congratulations to the Trap Team for a great season and thank you to all of the volunteer coaches, parents, Community members, the RLCC High School, and the Plummer Area Sportsman’s Club members who made this possible for the athletes of the RLCC Trap Team.
