Bucks for Ducks campaign at the Clearbrook-Gonvick High School a success

The third annual Bucks for Ducks campaign was a success this year as the Clearbrook-Gonvick High school iMPACT students doubled their donations. Previously the students have raised $500 and this year they decided to double that goal to $1000. They reached the goal in just three days. Approximately 700 ducks were sold at one concession stand that the iMPACT students worked.
Individuals Making Positive Actions Count Today (iMPACT) meets every Tuesday morning and this year, the students desired to focus on this project and donate all of the proceeds to one cause, rather than several. They chose to support Cy's Place, a pediatric guest house for transplant patients, which is on the slate to be built in Rochester, Minnesota near the Mayo Clinic. Randy Erickson, originally from Gonvick, MN and his wife Ree lost their little boy, Silas, at the age of three to a rare form of childhood cancer. Ever since then they have been diligently hosting families in their home in order to make their journey to the Mayo Clinic easier.
Several years ago, they decided to expand this dream into a reality and have currently purchased land while at the same time drawn up for the proposed building of Cy's Place. If anyone would like to know more information about this, please visit www.cysplace.org and you may watch a video which tells their story.
The students feel very honored to be able to support them in this way and know that their contributions will make a difference in the lives of the others. A huge shout out goes to the elementary students who bring the energy and positivity to this projects as well as their bucks for the ducks. Thank you elementary students and parents who are helping to create big hearts which support big causes.
