Alice Edna Fredrickson, 85, of Clearbrook, Minnesota passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Essentia Health First Care Living Center, Fosston, MN, surrounded by her loving family.

A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Clearwater Lutheran Church in Shevlin, MN, with a time of gathering an hour prior. Interment will be held at Clearwater Lutheran Cemetery, Minnesota. Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley is assisting the family with arrangements.

Alice was born on June 23, 1941, to Lewis and Dorothy (Hinrichs) Sether in Bagley, MN. She grew up on the family farm in rural Shevlin with numerous cousins close by. She attended school at District 47 country school and graduated from Bagley High School in 1959. Alice was united in marriage to Tony Fredrickson in Shevlin, MN, on June 6, 1959. They bought a home in rural Clearbrook where they lived throughout their marriage. They were blessed with three daughters. Her life has become full circle at Clearwater Lutheran Church where she was also baptized, confirmed, and married.

In her younger years, she picked potatoes for area farmers. In 1969, Alice went to work at Arctic Cat in Clearbrook, MN, making snowmobile tracks until the plant closed in 1981. She was then employed by the Bagley School District as a paraeducator until age 69. In 2011, she retired due to worsening vision problems. Alice was passionate about her work at the district, and she enjoyed her time with students and staff, with many of the students calling her grandma. She purchased many hats and mittens to ensure all “her kids” were warm on the playground.

Following retirement, she was plagued with numerous health issues. She entered Bemidji Sanford Hospital on August 12, 2022, after a fall, and was transferred to Essentia Health First Care Living Center on September 12, 2022.

Alice enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved her family very much. She enjoyed snowmobiling in her younger years and enjoyed reading the local newspaper when she was able to and talking with friends and family on the phone. She kept everyone updated on weather conditions. She liked going for car rides with Tony looking for deer and fall colors. She liked listening to the radio and entering contests, buying raffle tickets and playing Bingo.T

The family would like to express appreciation to Essentia Health First Care Living Center for their exceptional care.

Alice is survived by her husband of 67 years, Tony Fredrickson; daughters, Janet Fredrickson of Clearbrook, MN; Renae (Byron) Marsh of Shevlin, MN; and Karen (Mike Nickerson) f Bemidji, MN; grandchildren: Heidi Marsh, Ricky (Aricka) Marsh, Steven (Hannah) Marsh, and Justin (Nikki) Rognstad; great grandchildren: Trevor, Ivan, Zach, Adrianna (Carl), Chloe, Walker, Thea, Liv, Hallie, Dawson, Kaylee, Peyton, Brooklyn, and Owen; a brother, Alfred (Judy) Sether of Shevlin, MN; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
