Model L John Deere

Starting on January 30, 2020 my first grandson Archer was born. Of course I soon found a toy model A John Deere, to give him. On October 9,2020, an addition was made to the family, my second grandson!  His name is Callan Heath Mickelson.   So, now when Callan was born grandpa had to go looking for a toy.  I considered a Farmall C toy but really wanted a John Deere.  You don’t hear much about a model C John Deere, but I found one on ebay and TA DAH!  My grandson has his first toy John Deere!   You see the model C’s name was later changed to the model GP because of difficulty on phone calls distinguishing between “C” and “D”.
 On June 15, 2022 my first granddaughter Lola Kay was born. I had to go toy shopping again and of course I was able to find an L John Deere toy to give her when she was born!  Well, now as her first birthday approaches I was shopping once again.   Low and behold I found a model “L” Case toy!  So now she has a model “L” John Deere and a model “L” Case on her shelf!
On June 30, 2022, another granddaughter was born, Juniper Lynn Mickelson.  That was a challenge….a model “J”?  Well, I found a toy model “J” Minneapolis Moline toy, but it sold before I could buy it.   Luckily as her first birthday approaches I did secure a tractor for “Little Junie!”, as my grandson calls her!
When my most recent grandchild, Madden, was born you guessed it I had to find a model M. Well, as luck had it on my basement shelf I found a model M John Deere toy that I had given to his father, Marshall, back in 1991! Perfect, I gave him his dad’s tractor. Since I did find an MC-model M crawler to give Madden.
Recently while scoping out auctions I found a “real” model L John Deere. Lola’s dad Heath said he would like to have one…..well I threw in a bid. We will see if we get to have another model L in the family!
