Semi driver killed after leaving road

A Thief River Falls man, Gary Srnsky,  died early Thursday after the semi-tractor he was driving left the roadway and crashed in the eastbound lanes of Highway 10 near milepost 164.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash occurred at about 1 a.m. Dec. 11. A 2017 Mack semi was traveling east when it entered the ditch. The driver, a 69-year-old man who was unbelted, died at the scene.

Road conditions were reported as dry. No other vehicles were involved.

Assisting at the scene were BNSF, Rice Fire Department, Mayo Ambulance, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office and Rice Police Department.
