A place to call home while you’re away from your home

The former Freedom Living Center in Oklee has recently been transformed into the Oklee Inn and Fitness Center. The owners have been working hard to make it an attractive and comfortable place to stay. Rooms are available at both daily and extended stay rates.
Each room comes equipped with a mini-kitchen including a cabinet with a sink, microwave, fridge and a coffeemaker. The rooms have either a king or queen sized bed. All the rooms are very spacious and are handicapped accessible. Each room also come with a walk in closet, a recliner, a chest of drawers, a desk with rolling chair and a 37” flat screen TV. Cable and WiFi are also included. There are a number of rooms available for a daily or extended stay rates.
The Oklee Inn and Fitness has held an open house to showcase their new operation in the former Freedom Living Center in December and now in January. The open house in December showcased their rooms, but the open house on the 7 & 8 of January was to highlight their new Fitness Center. The Fitness Center will be open for members from January till April, and if there is enough interest, it may stay open through the summer.
The Fitness Center will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week, with 24/7 as soon as the new access locks are installed. Membership fees will be as follows:
Individual membership - $25.00 a month. Couple membership - $40.00 a month. Family membership (up to 4 members) $70.00 a month with each additional family member fee of $15.00 a month.
The type of equipment available to the members include treadmills, an exercise bike, an elliptical machine, and two weight machines.
There is some paperwork to fill out for your membership, covering the fees, health information, and rules and regulations a person needs to follow. But just think, no more having to run to another town to get a workout to improve your health, so close to home.
Other services available now available in the Oklee Inn and Fitness Center include a massage therapist, who  is setting up shop in the Oklee Inn and Fitness building and will be available for appointments soon. And if you need to have an item of clothing altered or repaired, there is a tailor already set up at the Oklee Inn & Fitness Center. Terri Eisbrener or Terri the Tailor is ready to start offering her skills as a seamstress. Watch for further details.
For more information on any or all the items listed in this article, contact either Terri at the Oklee Inn 796-5003 or her cell phone: 612-414-6094 or Tracy Hamm for info about the Fitness Center at 796-4692 or at Oklee Lumber 796-5131. The Oklee Inn and Fitness will be an ideal place to stay while in Oklee for special events, or anytime you are in the area.
