This Saturday, August 8th, the beauty of summer’s bounty can be viewed during the first annual Heritage Garden Tour.
The McIntosh Heritage and Arts Center and the East Polk Heritage Center are collaborating to give folks the opportunity to admire the efforts of several home gardener’s who have opened up their gardens for viewing.
The inspiration for the tour came from McIntosh Heritage and Arts Center Board Member, DeeDee Narum of McIntosh. “I love going to garden tours in other communities and felt we have so many beautiful gardens in our area, this would be a great way to showcase them.”
As a member of the McIntosh Heritage and Arts Center, she contacted the East Polk Heritage Center and plans got under way for the first Heritage Garden Tour. “We are hoping to make this an annual event that will grow in popularity and participation,” Narum stated.
Gardens are located in the Union Lake area, McIntosh and east of Fosston.
The tour can start anywhere, at either end of the tour or in between.
Maps will be handed out when tickets are purchased. Hours for the tour are 10 AM – 4 PM.
This event is a fundraiser to benefit both organizations. Tickets are $8.00 each and can be purchased the day of the tour at the following local businesses: TheoRose on Main, Fosston; McIntosh Bakery, McIntosh; and Ness Café, Erskine.
B-B Cafe in McIntosh will have a Garden Tour lunch special as well as the regular Saturday morning breakfast buffet from 6:30 am to 1:00 pm.
The Ness Cafe in Erskine will have Saturday morning breakfast buffet from 8:00 am to 12:30 am. You can order from the menu from 7:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
