McIntosh Memorial
Day Program & Parade
The annual Memorial Day program will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 27, 2019 at the McIntosh Community Center.
The Parade will begin at 10:20 a.m. leading with a Color Guard, Veterans, The Win-E-Mac Band directed by Amanda Schultz, students who carry the wreaths, etc. Other people are asked to march behind the Color Guard. You do not have to be a Veteran--just a volunteer supporting our Veterans.
The main speaker will be Colonel (Ret) Jeff Kappenman from Huntsville, Ala. He started his aviation career at UND in Grand Forks where he was commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant in the U. S Army and proceeded to Rotary Wing Flight school at Ft Rucker, Ala. His wife is Beverly Rustad of McIntosh and they have 3 children and 2 grandchildren and live in Huntsville, Alabama.
People are needed to set up chairs on Sunday, May 26 at 3:00 p.m. at the Community Center and help install the crosses at the old School lawn. Call Patrick Rolf if you are able to help with these items.
A light dinner will be served at the Community Center after the ceremony at the school. There will be a free will offering to defray the cost of serving this meal.
The choir will rehearse from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the Community Center with Gerald Borud leading the choir.
The McIntosh Friends of Veterans are sponsoring this Memorial Day event and would ask for donations so that the organization can continue to help with Christmas for local Veterans, Letters to Friends of Veterans, Blood Drive, etc.
Everyone is welcome to attend this program to salute all of our Veterans in giving thanks for their service.
