Karen Bratvold, the fitness trainer at Gain Fitness located in the Clear Waters Life Center in Clearbrook made a big name for herself. She won the women’s physique body building title at Minnesota State Champion NPC Body Builder contest. She won both divisions and overall women’s category at the Minneapolis Convention Center Saturday, June 9th. What a huge accomplishment, and her clients that attend her classes in Clearbrook are very proud of her.
At the 2018 NPC Minnesota State Championships, local amateur athletes competed for the overall titles within their divisions. During the morning pre-judging show, which is a part of the Minnesota State Sports Expo, athletes were compared and judged within their classes. During the evening finals show, athletes were awarded within their classes and class winners competed for the overall title.
Jay and Misty Jones approached her in February of this year to open up a fitness gym in the old school in Clearbrook. Several pieces of equipment have been set up on the old stage at the school with a second floor added for more areas to exercise.
Karen has two women’s classes on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. and Saturday at 8:00 a.m. in the gym. There are a number of ladies that take part in the program. Members can get in and have use of the exercise equipment whenever the Clear Waters Life Center is open. That is every day except Sunday.
Karen Bratvold is a champion physique female body builder online coach and a Lift Gear Athlete. It did not start out that way.
She is originally from Australia and she wanted to lose some weight. She spent a lot of time with her job and her children but she was able to make the time to spend at the gym. Her coach at the gym saw how well she was doing and urged her to go to the University in Australia for training. She learned about group fitness and nutrition to help other women. She went more into body building and having a weight training goal. She started to enter competitions as she grew stronger in strength. That is how she became involved with her husband Darren Bratvold. He is also into the exercise routine.
She does not use much sugar except natural and in training she has a bottle of water handy at all times.
She came to the Clearbrook area in 2016 with her husband who has been her coach and support during her training. She has also made some awesome gym buddies in the USA who are her support team and friends.
Talking with some of her gym buddies that come to Gain Fitness in Clearbrook, she has been such a happy and delightful person to be working with.
