John Lovely, pictured above, was part of the United States Army 25th Infantry Division, serving in the Vietnam War from April 1969 until June 1970. This picture can be found in the Vol. 1, No. 4, Summer 1969 Thunder book and is captioned, “As the projectile rapidly leaves the mortar tube, these Wolf-hound motarmen attempt to protect their ears from the thundering charges.”

Submitted by Karen Hagen On October 15th the Karlstad Lions hosted the Zone 6 and 7 Fall Meeting.  Zone 7 clubs include Greenbush/Badger, Grygla, Goodridge, Goodridge Lion Tamers, Roseau, Wannaska and Warroad. 48 Lions in the two zones attended the meeting. Jeremy Wiskow, of Goodridge, is the artist of this drawing titled, “Aftermath.” After working on it for eight hours with just a pencil and blending stump, Jeremy says this was one of the most intense and powerful drawings he has done. He plans to enter it into the Pennington County Fair.
