Last fall, Betsy Saurdiff, Cheryl Sistad and Amy Holte began working on grants for the Grygla Centennial from the Northwest MN Arts Council. They contacted Beau Bakken, of Hallock, MN, back in October of 2016 because Betsy knows him and knew that he had painted murals for cities in NW Minnesota....
(1938) Bethel Lutheran Church in Grygla. Altar, pulpit, kneeling rail and baptismal font built by John Franzman. This altar is now at the Historical Society in Warren, MN. This was the second creation John made for Bethel, sending the original and smaller one to a church in Goodridge.
