Coach’s Comments: The girls played their hearts out against BGMR. They battled until the very end and truly never let up even when we were down points. It’s amazing how we came back in the 5th set from 9-14. They wanted it, and they earned the win. I’m very proud and it shows that all the hard work in practice is paying off in the end.
As for the Chargers Football team, they had their first home game of the season in Grygla last Thursday night, August 29th, where they hosted Blackduck and ended up losing the game 8-50.
GG: 0 8 0 0 =8
BD: 12 16 0 22 =50
Coach’s Comments: It was a tough loss for the Charger’s to start the 2019 season in more ways than one. Levi Kiesow, Chargers mid linebacker/fullback injured his knee in the first quarter. From there on the Chargers struggled to keep the Blackduck Drakes in check. I’m proud of how our boys did respond to the injury; we just had too many holes to fill and overcome.
GG Stats per Head Coach John Wilebski: Offensive Moses Jensen 8/75 31 yard td run, Andrew Loken 11/36, Levi Kiesow 3/3
Passing Riley Manderud 6/9 28 yards 1 int 2point conversion pass from Manderud to McMillin
