Girl’s Basketball Parent’s Night
The Chargers girls basketball team is sitting with a record of 8-11 going into the week of February 6th. Last week, the girls took to the road to play BGMR and also hosted their Parent’s Night later in the week with a game against Sacred Heart in Goodridge. Both games were a loss for the team.
This week’s game schedule includes a game Monday night against LOW in Grygla, and also a girls/boys double header on Friday night in Warroad. Varsity Head Coach Elroy Johnsrud provides last week’s stats below.
Monday, January 30th GG at BGMR
Chargers defeated by Gators 25-58
Points: Hannah Dietsch 3, Ashlyn Henrickson 6, Brooke Anderson 4, Maci Bakken 5, Alison Satre 1, Carlye Kiesow 2, Cheyenne Irlbeck 4
Coach Elroy Johnsrud: We had 25 turnovers this game. This time of season I would like to see that number lower. Once again we had 4 girls out with flu or injuries. Our bench was short, but they came in and played hard. Cheyenne Irlbeck and Karlee Johnson came in and gave a good spark in the 1st half.
GBB Parent’s Night
Thursday, February 2nd vs. Sacred Heart in Goodridge
Chargers lose to Eagles 46-68
Points: Ashley Moe 13, Hannah Dietsch 16, Karlee Johnson 4, Brooke Anderson 4, Alison Satre 2, Mercedes Coan 3, Brooke Limesand 4
Coach Elroy Johnsrud: We played them tough in the first half, and then it got away from us in the second half. I thought we played good man to man defense and a very good Sacred Heart offense. We missed a few bunnies, and they wanted the ball more when it was loose. That was the difference in the game.
