Mildred Virginia (Rosenbaum) Larson, 85, died peacefully with her family by her side, on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at her home in Oklee Minnesota.

She was born July 28, 1937 daughter of, Cloyd A & Mildred A (Beck) Rosenbaum  in Havre, MT and was raised and educated in Chinook, MT, where she graduated with the Class of 1955. Immediately after, she went to work at the Blaine County, Montana ASCS office in Chinook.
That summer, she viewed the 4th of July fireworks with the man she would come to marry and the love of her life, Bennet Larson, a young man from Minnesota, who was working as a cowboy on a ranch near Chinook. In December of 1957, they married, took a honeymoon trip to Minnesota, then Bennet went off to Germany for a year to complete his obligation to the armed forces and Virginia stayed in Chinook. The two were married for more than 65 wonderful years.
They moved to the Twin Cities and lived there 9 1/2 years, Virginia working at Travelers Insurance in St Paul, then later after having children, providing daycare. In 1968 they purchased the Oklee Recreation Bowling Center in partnership with Bennet's sister Leona, and raised their family of four girls in Oklee. After 26 years, they left Oklee for the Elmcrest Motel in Warren, MN where they stayed for 11 years. In retirement they moved back to Oklee, with a few Texas winters sprinkled in.
Virginia loved her family; her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She loved to read, sew, quilt, scrapbook and was quite the card player. She liked fishing, camping, bowling and playing games with friends. She enjoyed her "birthday club" get-togethers and the lifetime friendships made there. Every grandchild and great-grandchild received a Grandma-made blanket when born and a scrapbook when they graduated from high school. She volunteered at the Warren Schools, helping kids learn to sew, the Good Samaritan Home in Warren, was a member of American Legion Post 159 in Oklee, Zion Lutheran Church and the WELCA in Oklee.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Bennet Larson; daughters Kimm (Thor) Thorson of Brainerd, MN; Kristine (Jim) Mattson of Redfield, SD; Kari (Daryl) Hamm of Oklee, MN; Kathi Bauer of Warren, MN; Grandchildren Timothy (Krista) Thorson, Marissa Thorson, Kathleen (Sidar) Uygun, Jessica (Brian) Mattson, Jacob Mattson, Zachary (Christine) Mattson, Christopher (Ashley) Hamm, Kayla (Lee) Knutson, Conway (Lexi) Hamm, Meghan (David) Geeslin, Brooke (Devon) Binstock, Jason (Megan) Bauer, Joseph Bauer, Benjamin Bauer; Great-Grandchildren Luca, Roman, Theo, Gemma, Bodin, Taylor, Millie, Monroe, Cecelia, Raphael, Magnus, Perpetua and Kasper; brother John (Nancy) Rosenbaum of Havre, MT and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, Cloyd A & Mildred A (Beck) Rosenbaum, brother Charles R.(Dick) Rosenbaum, grandson, Peter Lars Thorson and Son-in-Law Jeffrey Bauer.
