Kiesow presented with the Daisy Award

Sarah Kiesow, who is a CIC RN at Essentia Health in Fargo, was presented with the Daisy award on Friday, January 22nd, 2021.
Nominations are collected on a monthly basis. All letters are blinded and sent out to the DAISY committee who then scores each letter using a rubric. From there, the letter with the highest number is chosen to be the honoree!
Once a month, an honoree is presented with the award, which is a total surprise to them!
Each honoree receives a DAISY bag, certificate, Healer’s Touch statue, DAISY dust (which is actually cinnamon), cinnamon rolls, DAISY pin, 1 month front row parking pass, Daisy flowers and a poster that is displayed on their unit for the month with their picture on it. All honorees are also submitted to the DAISY Foundation and added to their website.
In this particular case, Sarah was nominated by one of her patients. A quote was included, saying: “Sarah not only took care of her patient’s physical and emotional needs, but also the needs of her patient’s friend. Sarah assisted this friend on the phone to help her navigate how she could get her insulin. Sarah helped diffuse a difficult situation and saved the day!”
