Charger basketball stats from last week

BBB at BGMR on Monday, March 8th
BGMR 84, Chargers 49
Stats - Jake Olson (11 pts), Riley Manderud (2 pts, 4 reb, 5 asst), Jordan Coan (4 pts, 8 reb), Lewis Jones (14 pts, 7 reb, 2 asst), Kaylor Torgerson (1 pt), Sheldin Sundberg (2 pts), Ian Haugen (4 pts, 6 reb), Moses Jensen (1 pt, 2 asst), Blake Rychlock (10 pts)
Coach’s Comments: The Gators have been a tough matchup for us the past few years, and this trend continued. We hung tough for the first half and kept the game within single digits until about halftime. After the break their pressure defense and up tempo offense wore us down and they pulled away in a big way. They shot the ball incredibly well and look like they’ll be a tough team to beat in the playoffs.
GBB vs. BGMR in Grygla on Monday, March 8th
Gators 50, Chargers 31
Hannah Wilebski- 3 points; Kjerstin Nelson- 3 points; Chloe Kuznia- 4 steals; Caitlyn Jacobson- 10 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals; Maddy Cullen- 2 points; Sadie Anderson- 1 points; Vivian Coan- 6 points, 9 rebounds; Katelyn Larson- 4 points, 3 rebounds; Madison Paulson- 2 points
Coach’s Comments: We didn’t play our best tonight. Our defense played great in the first half. We held them to 13-15 points for most of the 1st half. We just couldn’t get the ball to go through the basket. 2nd half was about the same, we got a few good looks to drop, but that was it.  We lost to a good team, and we move onto the next one.
GBB vs. KCC in Grygla on Tuesday, March 9th
GG 55, KCC 46
Hannah Wilebski- 7 points; Chloe Kuznia- 2 points; Caitlyn Jacobson- 10 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists; Maddy Cullen- 2 points, 3 assists; Sadie Anderson- 3 points; Kylie Delage- 2 points; Vivian Coan- 20 points, 4 rebounds; Katelyn Larson- 9 points, 4 rebounds.
Coach’s Comments: We played our makeup game tonight and the girls played well. Coming off a tough loss on Monday, I thought the girls came ready to play tonight. We got some points from people off the bench, we boxed out well, and we got some deflections when we put some pressure on them. It looked like the girls were having fun out there. Scoring was pretty even, which is nice to see. We were aggressive and got to the foul line 36 times. It was a good game by the girls.
GBB at Win-E-Mac on Thursday, March 11th
GG 60, Win-E-Mac 43
Hannah Wilebski- 2 points, 4 rebounds, 4 steals; Chloe Kuznia- 8 points, 5 assists; Caitlyn Jacobson- 22 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 steals; Maddy Cullen- 4 points; Sadie Anderson- 5 points; Vivian Coan- 15 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals; Katelyn Larson- 3 points, 10 rebounds
Coach’s Comments: We started a little slow, but pulled out the win. This was the last game of the regular season, so it was nice to get the win. We were able to put some pressure on them and force a few turnovers that turned into layups. I thought the girls played pretty good this game.
BBB vs. LOW in Grygla on Friday, March 12th
Chargers 82, LOW 48
Stats - Matt Busse (5 pts, 3 asst), Jake Olson (4 asst), Riley Manderud (12 pts, 7 reb, 3 asst), Jordan Coan (18 pts, 5 reb, 3 steals), Kyler Horgeshimer (2 pts, 2 reb), Tucker Verbout (2 reb), Lewis Jones (13 pts, 6 reb, 3 asst, 3 steals), Justin Thompson (3 pts), Levi Kiesow (1 pt, 3 reb, 2 asst), Ian Haugen (6 pts, 2 reb), Jared Haack (2 pts, 3 reb), Blake Rychlock (20 pts, 6 reb)
Coach’s Comments: We wrapped up the regular season with a home game against the Bears. We came out in the first half without the defensive intensity we need to play with, and the Bears shot well from behind the arc. Our pressure created some turnovers and wore the Bears down as the game went on, and we were able to pull away. We had positive contributions from the whole team, but Blake really had a standout game with strong offensive rebounding and three point shooting. We now must prepare ourselves for a playoff game next Thursday!
