2nd Annual Clearwater County Veterans Memorial Ride

On Saturday, September 5th, 2015, motorcyclists of every age and background met at the Bagley American Legion in the morning for snacks, juice, coffee and great conversation. There was time to admire the variety of bikes and trikes and meet old friends and make new ones.
The ride kicked off after a safety briefing and a prayer. The police and fire trucks lead the way. The ride was very well organized with road guards at every intersection.
The destination was Funkley, MN while passing through some of Northern Minnesota’s most beautiful country. Once at the Funkley Bar we were treated as special guests. The ride back to Bagley involved a stop in Leonard, MN for refreshments and more conversation.
Everyone arrived back in Bagley at the American Legion to a meal of Knutson and sons BBQ pork dinner with all the trimmings served by the Bagley American Legion Auxilary Ladies. We were then entertained by The Acoustics live band. There was several thousand dollars raised for the Veteran’s Memorial.
Everyone I spoke to was looking forward to next years ride. A special thanks to Jeff Schermerhorn and his crew, the Ladies Auxilary, and the support of the police and fire departments that made this event memorable.
