It was another beautiful day in Gonvick as they held their 24th Annual Pumpkin Day. The largest pumpkin weighing in at 1,101 pounds was disqualified as it had a crack in it. The winner was Corey Westrum of Leonard at the Rib contest. The ribs simmered all day and at 1:00 they were tasted and judged. It was part of the second Fall Fest that was held in Clearbrook on Saturday, September 16. Corey is the owner of North Star Pest Control and Town and Country Car Wash in Clearbrook.

The Local 49 Operating Engineers Training & Apprenticeship Center interactive trailer will be in Gonvick for the public to experience the heavy equipment simulators. Children and adults can stop by on Pumpkin Day Saturday, September 30.

The students were able to see a Baxter Robot that is completely Programmable. This robot provides examples of ways they can use machines to do simple tasks that can be repeated such as moving or packing of items.  This one showed the students how to fold a t-shirt. With the robot is James Bettin, instructor for the class.
