Survey results on bond issue

ATSR, Planners, Architects and Engineers have released the survey results on the Clearbrook-Gonvick School bond issue that was proposed.
The biggest issue from the respondents was safety and security of the school and they want to see the needed maintenance done and have proper classroom spaces and support for SPED spaces within the building. The process will continue to explore options with bringing together a community steering committee and other community meetings to come up with the right solutions for the district.
There were 236 responses that were sent in.
Of that total 109 voted no for the Bond Referendum and 68 voted yes, with 35 that did not vote.
Reasons for those who voted no on the Bond Referendum included Property Tax Impact, lack of communication, did not support the gymnasium addition and additional classroom space and did not support a certain aspect of the plan.
When asked how they felt when the district should address the facility needs. 40% said as soon as possible, 30% within 1 to 5 years and 15% were undecided.
How much of a Tax impact would you support through a bond referendum, assuming the project included were acceptable to you? Tax neutral of approximately 9 million dollars 66 people, 15 million dollars 19 people, 20 million dollars 30 people, 30 million dollars 22 people and 43 were undecided.
How much would be supported by only those who voted no. 51 for the 9 million, 7 for the 15 million, 2 for the 20 million 1 for the 30 million and 2 for more than 30 million and 13 were undecided.
Events that respondents regularly attend included: Choir and music concerts, basketball, football, volleyball and elementary school events.
In which municipality do you live was asked. 37 in City of Clearbrook; 19 in City of Gonvick; 21 in Township of Pine Lake; 16 in Township of Eddy; 39 in Leon Township, 13 in Township of Holst 10 in Township of Gully and 17 who did not live in the district.

Location of respondents voted only those who voted no. City of Clearbrook 13, City of Gonvick 10, Township of Leon 14.
What was the age of the 220 that answered. The two largest groups were 35-44 and 65 plus.
21 were employees of the school district and 206 were not.
When asked how they would like to receive school district information. They replied, school district website, School district newsletters and newspaper.
