New business on Main Street in Clearbrook

Hair & Beyond is the new business on Main Street in Clearbrook. Auna Brulé is new to the Clearbook hair styling business, but she owned a shop in Akeley for five years. She leased the space where Sue Voxland had a beauty shop a few years ago. There has been the Leader-Record office, a craft shop and a massage parlor in the space located in the same building that Thrifty White Drug is located.
Auna did her schooling at the Bemidji Salon Academy that is now located in the North West Technical School in Bemidji. It is being taught by Wendy Brown, the same person that she had as an instructor.
Her telephone number is 218-507-0996 and she has scheduled both morning, afternoon and evening hours. Her hours are flexible as she has had five surgeries in eight months. She lost a lot of weight and is now working to build up her system and her strength. She did not like spending time at home recuperating.
Why she chose to go into the hair business she said, "Your hair is your crown. She likes to make one person happy when they leave."
As a hair stylist she does permanents two different ways the old way with rollers and the new school way.
She has lived four years near Leonard with her family that includes her 10 year old daughter and 8 year old son. She also has a 19 year old that is off to college.
She is an only child that grew up in Bemidji with a single mom and went to school there. She met several Clearbrook-Leonard girls when they played volleyball in high school who she has remained friends with over the years.
With all of her doctors appointments her hobbies are family get togethers. They have a camper on a lake lot that they use to relax, ride on a pontoon, swim and have BBQ's on the weekend. Not too many weekends are available to do that.
