Clearwater County Food Shelf says good-bye to Site Manager Sharon Braaten

The Clearwater County Food Shelf says good-bye and good luck to our Site Manager Sharon Braaten.  April will be her last month at the food shelf as she moves to Thief River Falls on May 1 to be closer to her family.  Hired as the Site Manager on July 1, 2019 ~ Sharon has been the welcoming smile, the hearty laugh and the dynamic behind-the-scenes force at the CCFS.  Sharon says, “I love helping people get food.  I love working with all the volunteers at the food shelf.  I love serving people.  I just love it!!”
Sharon has been part of the Bagley community for decades.  She is a member of Zion Lutheran Church in rural Bagley.  She is also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.   She is also the sweet touch behind the caramel rolls that the Bagley Senior Center sells.   Her daughter Jessica, and Nathan, live in Bagley.  Her son Chris, wife Jessica and granddaughter Maddy are in Bemidji.  Sharon shared that JoAnn and the CCFS have been most helpful during her time at the food shelf.  “I just loved my job at the food shelf.”
JoAnn Paulson was hired to assist Sharon in March of 2021. With JoAnn in place, and the veteran volunteers, the CCFS will continue to operate without missing a beat.  While we were visiting, Sharon said that she will miss her work at the food shelf and we just might see her back in Bagley to pop in and visit from time to time.   When asked if she was going to volunteer at the food shelf in Thief River…she giggled and said, “Yeah, my sisters told me that there was a food shelf in Thief River that could use me!”
Although we will miss her, the Clearwater County Food Shelf wishes Sharon all the best in her future endeavors.
