Clearbrook-Gonvick school board meeting held

Clearbrook-Gonvick School Board met in regular session on Monday, July 15 in the Media Center.
Call to order and the pledge to the flag was given at 7:00 p.m.
The agenda and minutes of the previous meeting was approved.
Principal Josh Tharldson gave his report.  The 2024-2025 Student Handbook had a number of changes with law and policy changes coming from the state. The changes were there for their review.
They have a new Science curriculum that should arrive before the start of the new school year. Elementary will be using "Generation Genius" and 6th - 10th is utilizing Houghton Mifflin, Curriculum Titles; Science 3 Dimensions & Intro Science.
For the fourth year the district will be participating in Direct Admissions program through the State Department of Education. Seniors will receive a letter designed to encourage them to consider themselves "college material". Senior can opt out of receiving communication from this program 
New Teacher in-Service will be held on Thursday, August 22nd. The new hires for 2024-2025 are Kristopher Rue, High School Industrial Arts, Bailey Watne - Early Childhood Special Education, Katerina Schafer, High School Art and Peyton Dingmann, High School Science.
There will be a fall sport athlete and parent meeting on August 6th at 6:00 p.m. Fall Sports practices begin on Monday, August 12th.
New student class registration will be held from 8:00 am to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 20th for all new 7th - 12th students as well as any 7th - 12th grade wanting to make schedule changes before the start of the new school year.
Bills, electronic transfers and treasurers report were approved.

The board hired Adam Smith as the Full-Time Custodian at $16.56 per hour.
They accepted Wesley Rogstad's resignation as Assistant Football Coach and thanked him for his service and work with the elementary football program.
They approved the 2024-2025 agreement between MSEA and ISD #2311 for non-certified staff. See chart for details.
They approved the employee agreement for five school district positions. Food Service Director at $56,621.00; Behavior Interventionist $53,248.00;  Business Manager $66,000.00; Human Resources/Payroll Manager $54,000.00; Confidential Secretary $54,621.00; Buildings and Grounds Supervisor $54,256.00. They approved the extra-curricular coaches and advisors for the coming school year.
2024-2025 Cafeteria prices were approved the only change was for the adult meals with breakfast at $2.75 and Adult lunch at $5.25. 
Student breakfast, and elementary and high school student lunch are free. A second lunch is charged at the rate of an adult lunch. Milk is .50 for an extra one with one being included in the meal.
Two bids were received and the one from Prairie farms was approved over the one from US Foods.  The revisions for the student handbook for next year was approved.
The board adopted a resolution approving the long-term facilities maintenance (LTFM) plan.
The next regular meeting will be on August 19 at 7:00 p.m.
